We made history at our August 12th meeting. For the first time in club history, we were visited by a Past President of Rotary International. Past President Frank Devlyn loved the food, fellowship and fun at our breakfast meeting. Shame on you if you did not have your business card, because Frank is a natural net-worker. Promoting is his passion and he likes to connect Rotarians around the world so they can do business together.

For ten years I have tried to get Frank to get up early and visit us, but this time, our very own President, Dan Young tracked Frank down at his hotel in Aventura. Frank got up with the chickens and I picked him up at 6:30am sharp. Afterwards I drove Frank to visit the "godfather", Past District Governor Bob Menconi in Davie, and then we were off to lunch to visit the Rotary Club of Miami. Boy was it a great Rotary day with my amigo and mentor - a dream come true.

Frank's impromptu speech really moved me. He spoke about sharing the magic of Rotary with others and inviting them to Rotary. This was perfect timing since Past President Joe Roth was speaking about membership that morning. Frank also spoke proudly about the great Rotary books he has written. Who knows when Frank will come back again to visit us, but one thing is certain, what Rotary will be tomorrow depends on who we invite to visit our club today. Chances are they will meet and listen to great Rotarians like our "bueno amigo" Frank Devlyn. Frank, we love you and Rotary is blessed to have you.
