Weston Rotarians have been giving their Saturday mornings to help with the Cooperative Feeding Program of Broward. The CFP (also known as LifeNet4Families) serves individuals and families in poverty by providing counseling, a daily hot meal, emergency food pantry, telephone usage, case management, food stamp application, showers, mailroom and baby supplies. CFP serves over 300 meals per week and provides over 200 food boxes per week.
Over the past several visits Rotarians have been involved in serving and preparing hot meals, assembling food boxes, stocking the pantry, staning benches, cleaning out storage containers, organizing the warehouse and sprucing up the mailroom. Club members have also donated a substantial amount of peanut butter, which is always in short supply.
Our visiting dates for the next several months are being finalized. Please contact Herb Schultz at 954-465-4039 or email him for details.
